Cautions for Use of Silicone Defoamer


Silicone defoamer is the most widely used defoamer in the production of various industries. It is the most common defoamer. However, even though some customers still have some misunderstandings in the use of such commonly used defoamers, today four new defoamers will come to tell you about the matters needing attention in the use of silicone defoamers.


First, the emulsion should be fully mixed before use. Because the uneven emulsion will easily produce stratification, affecting the use of defoamer.


Second, organosilicon defoamer can be diluted when used, but the stability of defoamer will decrease sharply at the same time of dilution. If stratification occurs, it is recommended to use thickener as far as possible when dilution occurs. If water is diluted, then add water into defoamer and stir slowly. When dilution occurs, water should be diluted. Days run out.


Third, prevent frost. Silicone defoamers are sensitive to frost and high temperature and are vulnerable to damage. If frozen defoamers are used, they must be carefully defrosted and tested before use.


Fourthly, the stability of defoamer will be destroyed by long time strong oscillation or shear (such as mechanical pump, homogenizer, etc.) or stirring. Therefore, attention should be paid to the storage of silicone defoamer.
