The college consists of four departments: emergency and Safety Management Institute, fire and Fire Engineering Institute, industrial safety and occupational hazard Institute, and Urban Public Safety Institute. Safety science and engineering is one of the national key disciplines, the "Yangtze River scholars Award Program" of the Ministry of education, the national "211 Project" key discipline construction project and the "985 project advantage discipline innovation platform" key construction disciplines. It has been ranked first for four consecutive times in the national discipline evaluation. In 2017, it was listed as the first batch of "double first-class" construction disciplines in China, and in education A + in the fourth discipline evaluation. The college has 3 master's programs, 2 doctoral programs and 1 post doctoral mobile station.
The college has a high-level faculty, with more than 50 faculty members, including 3 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (including 2 double employed academicians), 17 professors and 11 associate professors. Among the teachers, 1 won the National May 1st Labor Medal, 1 national advanced worker, 1 member of the Higher Education Steering Committee of the Ministry of education, 2 heads of national key R & D program of the 13th five year plan, 1 was selected as the leader of science and technology innovation of the "ten thousand talents plan" of the Ministry of science and technology, 1 was selected as the innovation talent of the Ministry of science and technology, 1 won the China Youth Science and technology award, and 2 won the national coal award Three of them were selected into the "new century excellent talents support plan" of the Ministry of education, one was awarded the famous teacher award of Beijing higher education, and one was granted special allowance by the government of the State Council.
At present, the college has 1 National Key Laboratory, 1 national experimental teaching demonstration center, 1 National Engineering Practice Education Center, 1 national excellent teaching team, 2 original technology research and development platforms of the State Administration of work safety, 1 Beijing Key Laboratory, 1 Beijing Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, and 1 Beijing off campus talent training base.
The college has obvious disciplinary advantages and rich achievements in teaching and scientific research. In the past five years, teachers of the college have published 7 teaching materials, including 2 teaching materials planned by Yueqi; completed more than 30 teaching reform projects, teaching materials and curriculum construction; published nearly 70 teaching papers; won 1 second prize of national teaching achievements, 1 first prize of Beijing teaching achievements, 1 special prize of education and learning achievements in the coal industry and 1 first prize; won more than 50 provincial and ministerial scientific research awards, including 1 provincial and ministerial level There are 9 first prizes, 28 second prizes and more than 20 third prizes; more than 500 scientific research papers have been published, including more than 150 SCI papers and more than 150 EI papers; more than 40 national invention patents, more than 50 utility model patents and nearly 20 software copyrights have been authorized; 27 national research and development projects, such as national key research and development plans, National Science and technology support projects and National Natural Science Foundation, are currently under research, including provincial and ministerial research projects 9 science and technology projects.

Official registration: the adjustment system of "China graduate enrollment information network" will be opened on May 20, 2020.
