TYPES AND CHARACTERISTICS OF ORGANOSILICON DEMOLDING AGENTS (II)

1.2 Classified by Service Life

(1) Temporary release agent

During the working process of release agent, some components of release agent are gradually consumed, that is, the release agent is transferred to the product in the process of rubber and plastic products forming and processing. This release agent is called temporary release agent, or migration release agent. Silicone release agent based on inert silicone oil is a typical migration release agent. Temporary release agent is applied once or for a limited number of times.

(2) Semi-permanent release agent

If the film layer solidified by the release agent is firmly attached to the surface of the die, the component of the release agent will not be transferred to the product during the process of product processing and after the product demoulding, and will not be consumed at all. This kind of release agent is called semi-permanent release agent or non-migratory release agent. The organosilicon release agent based on cross-linkable curable silicone resin is a non-migrating release agent. The component of release agent will not be transferred to the rubber and plastic products, and will not affect the follow-up processing such as the bonding and finishing of the formed rubber and plastic products.

1.3 Classification by object of application or process conditions

The release agent is named directly according to the specific processing material or application object, such as polyurethane release agent, tire release agent, etc.

According to the actual use of process conditions, the release agent is called, for example, high temperature release agent, acid and alkali release agent, etc.
