In the world, silicone manufacturing is an industry with a value of about 73 billion yuan, and about 2.1 million tons of prepared silicone products are sold to the world. Of the organosilicon products exported to Asia, 68% were exported to China.






Since 2000, China's silicone industry has experienced the process of development and growth. After decades of development, China now has a comprehensive silicone industrial system, from the production of raw materials, intermediates and final products to education, scientific research, technology and design, and also provides support for processing aids, equipment manufacturing, test analysis, automation, logistics storage and environmental protection.






In China, organosilicon materials play a supporting role in the innovation of strategic emerging industries, including:

Next generation information technology

Military defense


High end equipment manufacturing


In the above emerging industries, organosilicon materials account for 30% of the total material consumption.






Organosilicon is an indispensable key component in many terminal application fields. Therefore, organosilicon may be directly supplied to the manufacturers of final products, but more commonly, organosilicon will go through several stages of the industrial chain. Through the transformation or modification of basic materials, companies at each level can gradually increase the added value of materials, making it the final product for sale.






Silicone promotes economic growth in two ways: creating jobs in the silicone industry and promoting the development of industries that depend on silicone ingredients.


In China, the direct production of organosilicon and the indirect production along the industrial chain provide a large number of jobs.


About 150000 professionals are expected to work in China's silicone industry.


It is estimated that in Asia, about 10 million employees are involved in economic activities related to organosilicon products, including organosilicon preparation, organosilicon dispersion, integration into larger components or sales of products containing organosilicon.
