Silicone materials in the application of new energy vehicles, is called strong!
Silicone material is one of the indispensable and important materials in automobile manufacturing. It can not only optimize the automobile manufacturing process, but also improve the performance and safety of automobile. At present, it has been widely used in various parts of automobile, such as airbag coating, power transmission seals, gaskets, hoses, windshield lining, automobile. 1. What is silicone rubber?
Silicone rubber is a kind of silicone elastomer material, which is different from petroleum-based polymer material. It comes from silicate ore in the crust. Silicone rubber is widely used in digital electronics, household appliances accessories, maternal and infant supplies, food contact, medical equipment, automotive accessories, power transmission, wire and cable and other fields. Through specific formulation design, silicone rubber shows its special advantages in the field of new energy automotive cables.
So what exactly is silicone rubber?
Silicone rubber is a kind of rubber whose main chain is composed of silicon and oxygen atoms alternately. Silicon atoms are usually connected with two organic groups. Ordinary silicone rubber mainly consists of silicone oxygen chains containing methyl group and a small amount of vinyl group. The introduction of phenyl can improve the high and low temperature resistance of silicone rubber. The introduction of trifluoropropyl and cyano group can improve the temperature and oil resistance of silicone rubber.
According to the different curing methods and the viscosity of basic polymers, silicone rubber can be divided into the following categories besides thermal curing and cold curing:
Solid silicone rubber (HTV), liquid silicone rubber (LSR), two-component RTV silicone rubber (RTV-2), one component RTV silicone rubber (RTV-1), silicone gel and so on.
Silicone rubber has good low temperature resistance. It can still work at - 55 C and can reach - 73 C when phenyl is introduced.
The thermal resistance of silicone rubber is also outstanding. It can work for a long time at 180 C, and can withstand several weeks or longer elasticity at slightly higher than 200 C. It can also withstand temperatures above 300 C instantaneously.
Silicone rubber has good air permeability, and oxygen permeability is the highest in synthetic polymers.
