Why is silicone sealant preferred for lamp adhesive?


As an indispensable component of automobile, automobile lamp plays an important role in night lighting, traffic signal, fog collision avoidance, steering signs and other aspects, and is an important guarantee for safe driving of automobile. In the manufacture of automobile lamp, in order to seal the light matching mirror and lamp housing, it is necessary to use sealant to bond.


In the application of automobile lamp bonding, firstly, the heat emitted from the lamp affects the sealant of automobile lamp. Under the corresponding high temperature environment, it is necessary to ensure that its bonding and sealing performance does not change. At the same time, it can not release organic gas, produce atomization phenomenon, and do not yellowing, which affects the appearance; secondly, when the sealant of automobile lamp is exposed to the sun. Ultraviolet irradiation in the light will not occur rubber layer cracking and other aging phenomenon, which requires the lamp sealant to have a good anti-ultraviolet aging performance; finally, the lamp sealant will be eroded by water vapor, rain for a long time, to ensure that its sealing performance will not be affected.


Hot-melt butyl rubber, thermoreactive polyurethane hot-melt adhesive and organic silicone sealant are the main sealants used in domestic at present. The car lamps sealed with ordinary hot melt adhesives often have problems such as leakage, cracking of glue layer, poor adhesion and fogging, which affect driving safety.


Silicone sealant products are widely used in car lamp seals because of their unique molecular structure, good adhesion, excellent high and low temperature resistance, excellent weather resistance, good hydrophobicity, excellent electrical properties and chemical corrosion resistance.
