Historical evolution
The school dates back to the Jiaozuo road and mine school founded in 1909. In 1938, it was established as the national Northwest Institute of technology in Chenggu, Shaanxi Province, together with Northeast University Institute of technology, Beiping University Institute of technology and Beiyang University Institute of technology.
Due to the historical changes, Xuzhou school headquarters and Beijing campus have gradually evolved into two independent entities.
It is one of the first batch of national key universities directly under the Ministry of education and listed in the national "211 Project". It is a multi-disciplinary research university with engineering as the main subject, mining as the feature, and the coordinated development of science, engineering, culture and management and other disciplines. It is a world-famous Mining University.
Subject strength
China University of mining and technology is located in Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province, which is known as the "thoroughfare of five provinces". It has 22 teaching colleges. It also has two independent colleges, namely Xuhai college and Yinchuan college, with 57 undergraduate majors. In the fourth round of discipline evaluation by the Ministry of education, mining engineering, safety science and engineering entered category A +, while surveying and Mapping Science and technology, geological resources and geological engineering entered category a. Engineering, geoscience, materials science and chemical ESI rank in the top 1% of the world.
