Pharmaceutical College of Jiangnan University is an important base for cultivating high-level talents in biopharmaceutics and pharmacy in China. It has two undergraduate majors of pharmaceutical engineering and pharmacy, four laboratories of pharmaceutical design and molecular pharmacology, system fermentation and pharmaceutical engineering, pharmacy and pharmaceutical materials, pharmaceutical chemistry and pharmaceutical analytical chemistry. Pharmaceutical engineering is a national first-class specialty, a brand characteristic specialty of the Ministry of education, an implementation specialty of the "excellent engineer cultivation plan" of the Ministry of education, a brand specialty of Jiangsu Province, a key construction specialty of chemical industry and pharmaceutical industry in Jiangsu Province, and a source selection base of national life science and technology talents training base. In addition, the college has established the second level discipline doctoral program of "Pharmaceutical Engineering and technology", "the first level discipline academic master program of pharmacy" and the professional master program of "Pharmaceutical Engineering", forming a complete talent training system of pharmaceutical engineering. The college has 578 students, including 23 doctoral students, 175 master students and 380 undergraduate students.
The college has a strong faculty with a highly educated and creative faculty. The college has 42 full-time teachers, including 14 professors and 30 associate professors; 8 doctoral supervisors and 28 postgraduate supervisors; the proportion of teachers with doctoral degree is 98%, and the proportion of teachers with overseas study and work or cross professional background is more than 80%. At the same time, the college employs more than 20 experts and scholars with rich scientific and educational ability and practical experience, including professors of famous foreign universities and chief engineers of famous pharmaceutical enterprises, to serve as part-time professors, pay attention to the practical training of "R & D" and "manufacturing", take the industry as the guide, and establish joint talent training bases with many international and domestic famous pharmaceutical enterprises, such as AstraZeneca, Wuxi pharmaceutical, Huarui pharmaceutical, etc., for learning It provides a platform for the integration of engineering practice ability.
In the past three years, the Faculty of the college has undertaken nearly 50 national 863 major projects, national major new drug development projects, 973 Plan, science and technology support plan, National Natural Science Foundation major projects, major strategic leading science and technology projects of Chinese Academy of Sciences, etc.; in JACS, PNAs, green More than 170 SCI papers have been published in important academic journals at home and abroad, such as chemistry and biomaterials; 194 invention patents have been applied for, 44 national invention patents have been authorized, and 2 international patents have been authorized; 9 provincial and ministerial science and technology awards have been won, including the first prize of Jiangsu Science and technology progress.
The college always adheres to the school running concept of "tamping the foundation of pharmacy, strengthening engineering practice and highlighting the characteristics of Biopharmaceutics", creates a high-level pharmaceutical engineering talent training mode of "biological characteristics, research and learning through", strengthens the seamless connection between teaching and research and development, adheres to the implementation of the whole process tutor system, and realizes the specialization of talent training. In recent years, the college has also actively explored the internationalization of undergraduate education, and has a good scientific research cooperation relationship with Albanese University of the United States and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Every year, it sends students to famous universities in the United States, Germany, Hong Kong and other countries and regions to study and exchange.
The school of pharmacy of Jiangnan University has always been focusing on the needs of the country and society, closely focusing on the education basis of cultivating talents with morality, persisting in inheriting knowledge for the sages and cultivating talents for China, focusing on cultivating high-quality innovative talents with strong sense of social responsibility and mission, willing to strive for the improvement of human health and the development of pharmaceutical industry for life.
In recent years, the innovation and entrepreneurship ability and employment competitiveness of pharmaceutical college students have been improved year by year. Within three years, the students have won 16 national awards such as the first prize of the "Challenge Cup" National College Students' extracurricular academic and technological works competition, the pharmaceutical professional experimental skills competition and the special prize of engineering design competition. The undergraduates participated in the cooperation and published more than 30 scientific research papers, applied for 15 patents, and obtained 3 provincial excellent graduation papers. In the past three years, the graduation rate of students has reached 100%, and the employment rate has exceeded 95%, of which the further education rate is nearly 35%, and the employment rate in pharmaceutical enterprises and related enterprises is stable at about 60%; the overall satisfaction of employers to students is as high as 99.64%, and the training quality has been generally recognized and highly praised by the society, the domestic pharmaceutical industry and relevant colleges and universities
