Zhongyu takes the lead in developing high quality wheat dietary fiber in China

In 2019, Binzhou Zhongyu Food Co., Ltd. cooperated with the school of food science and technology of Jiangnan University to jointly carry out the project of "Research on key technologies and industrialization approaches of high-value comprehensive utilization of wheat bran", which is the first research and development subject of deep processing and high-value utilization of wheat bran in China, and obtained the major scientific and technological special support from Shandong Provincial Department of science and technology with a subsidy of 8.2 million yuan.
The project focuses on three aspects of research work: high efficiency extraction technology of dietary fiber from wheat bran, refining and deep processing technology of different components of wheat bran, and research and development of high value functional food from wheat bran.
Recently, the research of this project has made a great breakthrough: the pilot test of high-quality wheat dietary fiber extracted from wheat bran has been successful, and the high fiber noodle and high fiber series flour scientifically prepared with wheat dietary fiber will be listed soon, which are all the first in China. Wheat dietary fiber series products, after five characteristic processing, have the characteristics of good sensory quality and outstanding health function.
According to the research and development results of the project, Shandong Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences carried out research, through animal experiments, to explore the hypoglycemic and hypolipidemic effects of zhongyumaixiang high fiber powder. On April 2, Shandong Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences released the evaluation report on the function of food raw materials aiming at "Zhongyu Maixiang high fiber powder (Zhongyu wheat dietary fiber powder)", one of the research and development achievements of the project. The report shows that zhongyumaixiang high fiber powder has obvious effect on lowering blood sugar and blood lipid.
Hypoglycemia: zhongyumaixiang high fiber powder can significantly reduce the fasting blood glucose and glucose absorption of diabetic model animals; this function is mainly through reducing glucose absorption and regulating insulin level, which has a significant effect on improving insulin resistance; for normal experimental animals, zhongyumaixiang high fiber powder does not affect the normal blood glucose.
Hypolipidemia: zhongyumaixiang high fiber powder can significantly reduce serum total cholesterol (TC) and triglyceride (TG).
Zhongyu has established the Key Laboratory of wheat processing of the Ministry of agriculture and rural areas and the national technological innovation center of wheat processing industry. The grain processing technology and product quality are in the leading position in China. The food science and engineering major of Jiangnan University ranks first in the global university in 2019. The grain research center led by Professor Zhang Hui has made a series of significant achievements in the field of functional composition and healthy food of grains for many years. Zhongyu and Jiangnan University have been carrying out cooperative research in various aspects. In 2019, the two sides formally launched in-depth cooperation, established the joint research and development center of Zhongyu Jiangnan University, and carried out the research on the high-value comprehensive utilization project of wheat bran, which was listed in the major R & D plan of Shandong Province in 2019.
Focusing on the "healthy China" strategy, Zhongyu has been striving to develop more healthy food. At present, with the improvement of living standards, people's food refinement degree is higher and higher, but the intake of dietary fiber is significantly reduced, leading to some so-called "modern civilized diseases", such as obesity, diabetes, hyperlipidemia and so on. As a result, dietary fiber has become a matter of concern to the academic community and the general public, and has been recognized as the "seventh category of nutrients" by the nutrition community. Before, people used to supplement dietary fiber with functional foods such as tablets, powders and emulsions, while Zhongyu's dietary fiber flour can be made into various foods such as steamed bread, dumplings, pancakes and pastries. Its color, flavor and flavor are much better than those of general functional foods and traditional coarse grains, providing more choices for people to supplement dietary fiber.
Relying on Zhongyu's whole wheat recycling industry chain, the project will focus on the research and development of functional food raw materials such as wheat protein peptide this year, accelerate the industrialization, provide more healthy food for people, and better serve the "healthy China" strategy.
