On the morning of March 30, Professor Ma Xiaoping, director of the Construction Office of the Institute of artificial intelligence of China University of mining and technology, led a team to our Institute for research and exchange, accompanied by Professor Chen Xing and Dai Haijin. Zhang Maoping, Secretary of the Party committee of the college, Wang Enyuan, vice president Qin Botao, Wang Liang, and Li Zhonghui, Ji Jingwei, Zhong Xiaoxing, Yang Yongliang, Zhang Guowei, the principal of each research institute attended the symposium.
At the exchange meeting, director Ma Xiaoping first introduced the planning scheme of the Institute of artificial intelligence of China University of mining and technology. He hopes that AI research institute can become an open, sharing, characteristic and outstanding application platform for the whole school, with mining characteristics and hot fields, and more importantly, it can become a highland for the university to attract foreign talents. Professor Chen Xing made an explanation on relevant fields of business cooperation.
President Wang Enyuan introduced the college's efforts to expand the new discipline direction, strengthen the application of artificial intelligence, big data and other cutting-edge technologies, and expressed the urgent need to strengthen cooperation with the Institute of artificial intelligence, accelerate the guidance of interdisciplinary disciplines, occupy the commanding height, actively promote and make the work practical. He said that it is very necessary and timely for the university to establish an artificial intelligence research institute, build an open platform for cooperation and exchange, and solve disciplinary problems such as disciplinary integration, scientific research cooperation and personnel training.
The leaders of the participating research institutes introduced the research direction and current situation of each research institute respectively, and put forward their own understanding and views on how to integrate artificial intelligence with security discipline.
Finally, Secretary Zhang Maoping pointed out that at present, artificial intelligence is a hot spot and a future development direction. It is very appropriate for the school to establish an artificial intelligence research institute, which should be strongly supported. He suggested that the research and development of artificial intelligence in mineral university should be combined with the actual situation of the school and pay attention to the combination with advantageous disciplines, so as to produce distinctive results; the Institute of artificial intelligence should be based on the school and dare to go out to the first tier or hot cities or even overseas development, so as to realize the original intention of the Institute of artificial intelligence faster.
