Application of Silicone Resin in Heat Resistant Powder Coatings

Heat-resistant powder coatings refer to powder coatings that can withstand over 200 degrees centigrade for a long period of time, have good film, and can make the protected objects play a normal role in high temperature environment.

From the point of view of the mechanism of thermal stability of polymers, the thermal resistance of polymers mainly depends on their molecular structure. The thermal stability of polymers can be improved by introducing larger or more polar side groups into the main chain and increasing the intermolecular interaction force.

Another way to improve the heat resistance of powder coatings is to add heat-resistant pigments and fillers to the polymer. The commonly used pigments and fillers are aluminium powder, mica powder, stainless steel powder, cadmium powder, silica, etc.
