There are many factors that affect the foaming and foam stabilization in the formulation of antifoam.           
1: The surface tension of the antifoaming agent has a great influence on the surface tension of the coating. The surface tension of the antifoaming agent must be lower than that of the coating, otherwise it will not have the effect of antifoaming and antifoaming. The surface tension of coating is a variable factor, so when choosing defoamer, the surface tension should be constant, and then the surface tension factor should be taken into account.           
2: For the influence of other additives, most of the surfactants used in coatings tend to be incompatible with defoamers. In particular, emulsifier, wetting dispersant, leveling agent, thickener and so on will affect the effect of defoamer. So we must pay attention to the relationship between different auxiliaries and choose the best balance point.           
3: Baking temperature when the coating enters into high temperature baking at room temperature, the viscosity will drop at the beginning, and the bubbles can move to the surface. However, due to the volatilization of the solvent, the curing of the coating, and the increase of the surface viscosity, the foam film will tend to be more stable, and shrinkage and pinholes will be generated when the coating is left on the surface, so the baking temperature, curing speed, and solvent volatilization rate also have an impact on the effect of the defoamer.           
4: the solid content, viscosity, elasticity, high solid thickness, coating, high viscosity and high elasticity coatings are very difficult to eliminate. In these coatings, the dispersant of defoamer is difficult, the bubble speed is slow, the migration of foam to the surface is reduced, the viscoelasticity of foam film is large, and so on. The foam in these paints is quite difficult to remove. It is better to use defoamer and defoaming agent.           
5: There are many methods of coating and construction temperature coating, such as brush coating, roller coating, spray coating, scratch coating, high pressure airless spraying, screen printing, etc. The foaming degree of different coating methods is also different. Brush, roll foam is more than spraying and scraping, the most foaming is screen printing of ink, and it is not easy to eliminate. When the temperature is higher and the temperature is lower, the foam is more, but when the temperature is high, the foam is better than the low temperature.
